MESSAGE QUESTIONS

In Revelation, God reveals to us the spiritual reality behind his grand plan for all of creation. And right in the middle of that book is a Christmas story – but not a Christmas story like any you have heard before. This is the cosmic story of Christmas—the story of a woman, a dragon, and a child. And through it, God is telling us how underneath all the familiar aspects of Christmas, it is actually the beginning of the end of God’s epic war against the forces of evil and the hope for all creation. This week we will be in Revelation 12:13-17. The big idea is: You have undying hope because the Child overcame the dragon.

Use these questions to discuss the message from Sunday, focusing on how you can grow as an everyday follower of Jesus and how you can go accomplish what Jesus calls you to do.

  1. Read Revelation 12:13. What did the dragon do to the woman? Did it prohibit the child from being born? Have someone read Genesis 3:15 and Genesis 4:1. What did Eve say after she delivered Cain?

  2. Have someone read Revelation 12:14-16. How is the woman helped and protected from the serpent? What did the earth do to the dragon? How have you seen God’s protection and preservation in your own life?

  3. Have someone Revelation 12:17. Who was the dragon angry at, and how did he act in that anger? Have someone read Romans 16:20. What do you notice about God’s conquering of Satan?

  4. What new things did you learn from looking at the Christmas story through the Apocalyptic book of Revelation? How did those things help you grow in your love of Jesus and others?

  5. We have undying hope because the Child overcame the dragon. Pastor Steve encouraged us to pray through process and content. How important is the process when going to the relationships around you this Christmas?
