Dear Alderwood Community Church Friends,
Looking back at 2023 I am reminded of a story which highlights two important parts of the Pregnancy Resource Clinic.
Zara was in her late 30s and did not want to be pregnant again. She came to the Clinic with concerns about pregnancy at her age and feeling that it wasn’t a good idea to go forward, even if it meant having the baby girl she’d always wanted. She simply wanted to just make it go away. A week later, Zara returned with her husband for an ultrasound. Her husband had voiced his support, and they decided to keep the baby. And, Zara was blessed to deliver the sweet girl she’d always wanted – praise God!
What stands out is, first, the safe place the PRC is for women to wrestle with their concerns; they can trust the staff knowing they won’t be judged. Second is the value of the father’s voice. Men’s Services Manager Kirk Anderson is here to come alongside fathers and help strengthen their voice in the pregnancy and parenting decisions.
Zara’s story may have ended differently if not for YOU. Your generosity makes the clinic a safe place for women to explore their options and make informed decisions, and your support means men have resources to be the best dads they can be.
