Greg Lyons is the son of missionary parents. While in America with his parents as a young boy, his pastor brought a message about the reality of hell and the dangers of living a life without Jesus Christ. He accepted Christ as Savior before going to sleep that night. Greg has a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, and a PhD in Communication and Leadership. He has been in ministry in the Philippines since 1985. Primarily church planting missionaries, the Lyons have founded the following ministries in Metro Manila:
GLOBAL SURGE, Inc. (GS) – An Asian Based Urban Church Planting Movement. Focuses on reaching inner city young people with moral values and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Using Evangelistic Camps, this ministry has reached over 1,000,000 young people. Additionally, Global Surge has helped establish similar ministries in Cambodia, Thailand, Mexico City, Las Vegas, Pakistan, Colombia, Dominican Republic, and Botswana.
GLOBAL LIFE UNIVERSITY (GLU) – A Biblically based educational, leadership training ministry to equip and prepare the next wave of Asian leaders in ministry and society. With enrollment reaching 2,000 students annually, GLU has emerged as a strategic training ministry launching non-western missionaries in many closed countries.
Greg and LuAnn have six adult children and eleven grandchildren.
