Membership Class
Why Membership?
Membership at Alderwood is more than just attending a class – it’s a commitment to actively participate in the life and mission of our church. As a member, you’re joining a community of followers of Jesus who are committed to connecting, growing, and going together.
What Do Members Get to Do?
- Vote on Important Church Matters: Members have the privilege of voting on key decisions, such as leadership appointments, budgets, and major initiatives. Your voice matters in shaping the future of our church.
- Serve in Leadership Roles: Membership is a prerequisite for serving in certain leadership positions, including elder, ministry team leader, and committee member.
- Shape Our Community: As a member, you help shape the spiritual direction and community culture of Alderwood through your involvement, feedback, and prayer.
- Deepen Your Connection: Membership is a bridge to deeper relationships within the church. You’ll connect with other members who share your commitment to growing as everyday followers of Jesus.
What to Expect in the Membership Class:
- What Membership Is: Learn what it means to be a committed member at Alderwood, including the responsibilities and privileges of membership.
- Why It Matters: Understand why membership is important – not just to Alderwood, but to your own spiritual growth and connection within the church.
- Alderwood’s Mission and Vision: Discover how our mission – “Following Jesus together” – shapes everything we do and how membership connects you to that purpose.
- Are You Ready? Explore whether membership is the right next step for you. We’ll discuss expectations, commitments, and what it looks like to fully engage in the life of our church.
Membership classes are held multiple times a year on Sundays from 9:30am to 10:30am. Join us to take the next step in your journey at Alderwood.
