Message Questions

We are continuing our study in the book of Acts, which is the story of the Holy Spirit igniting the Jesus movement through faithful obedience of a few humble people. We continue that same story today, and the Holy Spirit will use the teachings of Acts to inspire you to do the same thing the earliest followers of Jesus did when they first understood the magnitude of what God has done through Christ: to GO. This Sunday, the big idea is: God is still in the business of radical transformation. Our passage is Acts 9:1-30

Use these questions to discuss the message from Sunday, focusing on how you can grow as an everyday follower of Jesus and how you can go accomplish what Jesus calls you to do.

  1. Have someone read Acts 9:1-9. What was Saul doing against the Lord? What question did he ask the Lord? What was the Lord’s response to Saul?

  2. Have someone read Acts 9:10-19. What was Ananias’ initial reaction to the Lord in vs. 10? How did Ananias respond when he heard that it was Saul? What was Ananias’ role in Saul’s transformation?

  3. Have someone read Acts 9:20-26. Where did Saul begin to proclaim Jesus? What was the response of those who listened to his proclamation? Read vs. 22 again. What was Saul proving? What was the response of the disciples to Saul in vs. 26.

  4. Saul faced opposition from certain groups. Share a time when you have experienced opposition when sharing your faith in Jesus. Did this opposition cause you to grow? Why or why not?

  5. God is in the business of radical transformation. Pastor Curtis encouraged us to think about the people in our life who we consider too far from Jesus. Who in your life is the furthest from Jesus, and how can you go towards them this week?
