Missions at alderwood
At Alderwood, we Follow Jesus Together. We do this by connecting in relationships, growing to become more like Jesus, and going to do what Jesus calls us to do. For many years, we have had the opportunity to Go both Locally and Globally. We want to be a church that is known for being the hands and feet or Jesus, in Lynnwood and around the world!
Partnership criteria
When seeking new Go initiatives, our value is to be wise with our partnerships. Our leadership team has a 3 tier system for choosing our partners. These 3 values are Partnership, Progress, and Potential.
We believe transformation happens through trusted relationships. That’s why we partner with organizations like World Concern through One Village Transformed (OVT), where leaders walk alongside communities toward lasting change. Through these partnerships, we’re able to share progress in meaningful, accessible ways and invite our church to be part of the story. At the heart of it all is a commitment to nurture the God-given potential in every person—especially the next generation—to make a lasting impact for Christ, both locally and globally.
Meet our missionaries!
Alderwood has close ties with missionaries all over the world! Many of the missionaries we support grew up at ACC hearing stories from people serving in the Philippines, Africa, and Mexico. Our relationships with some of these people goes back to 1960!

One village transformed
Going to the end of the roadAt Alderwood, we believe in being part of God’s redemptive work around the world—and through our partnership with World Concern, we get to do just that. Together, we've helped walk alongside villages through a multi-year journey of transformation, supporting efforts that provide clean water, nutrition, education, income opportunities, and spiritual growth. These communities aren't just surviving—they're building a sustainable future, empowered by the hope of the gospel. As a church, we’re honored to invest in this work and celebrate the real, lasting change made possible through your generosity and God’s faithfulness
So, how does World Concern's model differ from other organizations around the world? There mission is Going to the End of the Road. Below are a few ways that OVT partnerships partner with local villages. From leadership training to meeting needs for clean water, adequate nutrition, and medical care, we support the community as it implements sanitation and hygiene practices that support good health, protection and education for their children, and Savings & Loan groups that empower families financially. As sustainable change takes root, real transformation takes place.

ways to go with one village transformed
You can be part of this transformation in South Sudan. Going looks different on this project as the biggest way to go is by prayer and financial support. Pray for God to continue to move in powerful ways in South Sudan. Your gift helps bring long-term hope to those who need it most.
short term trips
At Alderwood, we are about not only “supporting” our missionaries, but also partnering with them to show our love and our bond in tangible ways. One of the BEST ways we know is through short-term mission trips! Let us know and we will be in touch!
Serve Our Community
We desire as a church to make a difference in our community and reach people living right here in Snohomish County. We know of no greater privilege than introducing others in our community to the love of Jesus Christ so they can receive his grace, forgiveness, and eternal life.
Compassion Center
The goal of the Alderwood Compassion Center is to offer food and assistance to those working poor individuals and families throughout Edmonds, Lynnwood, and South Everett. Our hope is to establish relationships where we can communicate our hope in Christ.
pregnancy resource clinic
PRC of Snohomish County serves women in unplanned pregnancies by providing free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, baby clothes and diapers; as well as classes for pregnancy, childbirth, and baby care.
Lahai HEALTH
Lahai offers healthcare to those who would otherwise have difficulty accessing medical, dental, and mental health counseling—to show Christ’s love through care to underserved people. Lahai Health partners with ACC by operating its mobile medical clinic at the Compassion Center each Tuesday.
Prisoners for christ
Review weekly Bible lessons and write encouraging comments that will be sent to local inmates. It has been shown that those inmates involved in these Bible studies are far less likely to commit a re-offense. God is truly at work! Your personal privacy is always safe and secure and the work is eternally rewarding. For more information or to join this team, contact Gwen Strauss.
