            Don’t hold anyone to a standard that you’re not willing to hold for yourself.

            Jesus invites you to apply his teachings to yourself before you apply them to anyone else.

            Don’t hold anyone to a standard that they don’t hold for themselves.

Seven questions to ask before you correct someone:

  1. Is this something that Jesus cares about?
  2. Is my attitude one of building up or tearing down?
  3. Do they want to follow Jesus?
  4. Am I as hard on myself as I am on them?
  5. Has this person invited me to speak into their life?
  6. Would Jesus speak to this person like this?
  7. Have I talked to Jesus about this yet?
