Message Questions

We are continuing our study in the book of Acts, which is the story of the Holy Spirit igniting the Jesus movement through faithful obedience of a few humble people. We continue that same story today, and the Holy Spirit will use the teachings of Acts to inspire you to do the same thing the earliest followers of Jesus did when they first understood the magnitude of what God has done through Christ: to GO. This Sunday, the big idea is: The Holy Spirit does miracles for Jesus’ glory and for our good. Our passage is Acts 9:31-43

Use these questions to discuss the message from Sunday, focusing on how you can grow as an everyday follower of Jesus and how you can go accomplish what Jesus calls you to do.

  1. Read Acts 9:31-33. How is the early church living and acting? Pastor Wyatt shared that miracles aren’t the norm. Have you seen any miracles happen in your life?

  2. Have someone read Acts 9:34-35. Who is doing the healing of Aeneas? How did Aeneas respond to the healing? How did the people who lived around Aeneas respond when they heard of this miracle? Read Matthew 13:58. Where do you see Jesus bringing life to circumstances or relationships that appear to be dead or hopeless today?

  3. Have someone read Acts 9:36-43. Where did the disciples place Tabitha’s body after she died? Miracles are signs that point to something greater. What did Peter do before he told Tabitha to get up?

  4. Pastor Wyatt shared that God delights in working through his people. How have encounters of faith and healing caused you to grow in your love for Jesus? What areas of your life do you need to bring to Jesus?

  5. The Holy Spirit does miracles for Jesus’ glory and for our good. Where have you seen the Holy Spirit do a miracle, and how did it glorify Jesus and bring about good? Who in your relational world needs the healing power of Jesus?  What are ways you can go towards them?
