Dear Friends at Alderwood Community Church,
As we continue to experience a time like no other, we are reminded of 2 Corinthians 12:9 where Jesus said, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” In all the changes and uncertainties that we are facing today, and will face in the future, His grace is sufficient and His provision is vast!
Our spring and early summer has sure been different! Still working from home, still using Zoom! Calling and encouraging our Awana Ministry Directors. Not being able to be with so many of our Awana leadership at our eighth annual June Connection meetings around the area was a huge disappointment for us.
Awana Headquarters has advised us not to travel for ministry until August, so I am leading a team of missionaries as we plan and put together an online Awana Basic training to help churches prepare their leaders for the start of Awana.
We know there’s nothing better than face-to-face meetings and we sure do miss seeing people in person as we’re sure you all do. How things look this fall is a mystery to everyone, but it’s no mystery to the Lord.
At the current time, we are still planning to hold two Awana Ministry Conferences:
October 3 in Spokane
October 10 in Mt Vernon
I am also leading a team of missionaries preparing options for the Awana Ministry Conference just in case it is needed.
In addition to the role of Awana Missionary, I was asked to serve as an Awana Field Director. I have the ongoing privilege of leading, and encouraging 10 other missionaries from around the country. This position has also given me an opportunity to be part of the leadership discussions and decisions as we help churches navigate the hurdles and prepare for the fall Awana Ministry in creative ways.
The need to reach the kids with the love of God and the gospel of Jesus is clearer than ever before as the children and teens grow up in a world that has shut God out of most everything.
Thank you so much for standing with us in prayer and financial support, so we can be the hands and feet of Jesus to so many in Washington and Northern Idaho.
